Welcome to Taking The Lead Canine Academy.
We are three IMDT-qualified trainers who use modern, positive-reward methods to help you get the most out of your dog.
Taking the Lead run classes for dogs and puppies of all ages and founder Nik O’Flynn also carries out private lessons for personalised training and behaviour work.
Classes are held in Epping with agility, scentwork and gundog classes in Sewardstone.

Puppy and Obedience classes are Pay As You Go throughout August and September, please check out Book Online button. Blocks of classes restart in October.
Our Agility Club has limited spaces but please contact us if you would like to go on the WhatsApp group to hear about spaces and additional workshops.

Group Classes
Instructive and fun classes for all levels including puppies, adolescents and older dogs. Also the opportunity to take IMDT certificates from puppy to Level 6.
Your dog will learn obedience and life skills, such as being calm around other dogs, as well as fun elements like agility and games.
Private Sessions
Lessons tailored to your needs for teaching your dog the perfect recall or how to walk to heel without pulling.
Behavioural problems also welcome, eg dealing with separation anxiety, or a reactive or fearful dog.
Puppy Visits
Got a new puppy? Or thinking of getting one? Start on the right track with a home visit.
Get on top of toileting, introduce good habits and get your puppy to focus on you and start early training.
Group Classes
Dog and puppy training classes.
Also special workshops: recall, impulse control.
Classes held on Fridays and Saturdays in Epping.
Private Sessions
Hour-long training sessions with you and your dog/puppy at a place to suit you.
Sessions tailored to suit your dog’s needs, eg poor recall, lead pulling, puppy knowledge.
