Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Conditions”) govern the use of Taking the Lead Dog Play Park secure dog field and form part of the legally binding agreement between Taking the Lead Dog Play Park (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the person making the booking (“Client”, “you”, “your”).
By making a booking and/or using the facilities, you agree to be bound by these Conditions.

Taking The Lead Dog Play Park hire Private Use Terms & Conditions:

Access and Security:
  • The field hire is for 50 minutes, with a maximum of six dogs per booking. If you have more than six dogs please contact us to discuss. 
  • There is a 10 minute change over time between bookings.
  • The gate off the car park has a padlock. The code will be sent to you with your booking confirmation. This gate MUST be closed  behind you both when you arrive.
  • THE CODES REQUIRED FOR LOCKS WILL BE SENT WITH YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL. Please note, they are changed often.
  • IT IS VITAL YOU CLOSE ALL GATES AND LOCK ALL LOCKS BEFORE YOU LEAVE.
  • Digging is allowed in the sandpit only. Please do not allow dogs to dig any of the grass. If they do attempt to dig the grass stop them immediately as holes caused by your dog could pose a risk to other users. 
  • The Taking The Lead Dog Play Park is a strictly no smoking site.
  • Please be aware there is no lighting so you will need to bring a torch if visiting in the dark.
Arrival and Parking:
  • Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for your session, if you arrive and see a car in the car park or somebody in the field please leave your dog in the car until the field is clear. This is essential as the dog in the field might need space from people or dogs. 
  • There is ample car park space at the site. Please do not drive or park on the grass unless you have permission.
  • Do not allow your dog off lead until they are securely in the field.
Equipment
  • Any equipment in the field has been left for dogs to use. Please respect the equipment and report any damages. 
  • Do not allow children on the equipment. 
  • The wet weather marquee is there for your use. Please lace up the entrance door when leaving to make it secure against high winds.
Cleanliness:
  • Please clean up after your dogs and dispose of the waste in the bins provided. Dog waste must be bagged before being put into the bin.  Failure to pick up after your dogs could result in you being banned from using the facilities.
  • There is a waste bin for other waste disposal, eg coffee cups. It is not to be used for large items, please take those home with you.
Health and Safety:
  • The site is checked daily, but please report any issues with fencing or access immediately to Nik on 07802 967449.
  • Dogs must be vaccinated and be fit and well to use these facilities. Please do not bring any dog which has had sickness or diarrhea within 48 hours of the booking. If your dog has had Kennel Cough, as per Kennel Club advice, they must not attend for 21 days after their last coughing episode. Rescue dogs must have been in the country for 28 days and be clear of any contagious diseases.
  • Please respect the privacy and safety of other users and do not approach or interact with them unless invited to do so.
  • You are responsible for the supervision and control of your dogs at all times. The field is fenced with 6ft dog fencing. However we cannot guarantee against escape therefore please do not leave your dog unattended in the field.
  • Do not tether your dog to the fence or gates.
  • Please be aware of the potential hazards and risks of your dogs running on uneven ground. You agree to use the field at your own risk and waive any claims against us for any injuries or damages caused by the ground condition.
  • You are using our facilities at your own risk and responsibility.
  • Dogs bark, but please try to limit barking to ensure it does not become a nuisance.
Additional Dogs:
  • The field is for the use of the person who made the booking and their dogs. However you may book the field with a friend to walk your dogs together. 
  • You may not transfer or sub-let this consent to any other person, without prior consent from Taking The Lead Dog Play Park. If you are a dog walker with more than three dogs you MUST contact Taking The Lead Dog Play Park to discuss as the booking price will be higher.
Liability:
  • You are liable for any damage or injury caused by your dogs to the Taking The Lead Dog Play Park, its facilities, or other users. 
  • Taking The Lead are not responsible and will not accept liability for any loss, damage, injury or death howsoever and by whomsoever caused, whether to property or person(s) sustained by any person in the Taking The Lead Dog Play Park.
  • You are responsible for all safety aspects of your dog prior to, during or subsequent to using the field and must accept liability for any loss, damage, injury or death howsoever and by whomsoever caused, whether to property or person(s) sustained by any person(s) in the Taking The Lead Dog Play Park site.
Acceptable Breeds:
  • Taking the Lead Dog Play Park accepts all dogs and breeds in accordance with current UK legislation.

  •  Breeds subject to specific legal requirements (including but not limited to XL Bully types) are permitted within the secure field without lead or muzzle, provided such use complies with applicable law.
  • In car park and communal areas, dogs subject to legal controls must remain on a lead and muzzled as required by law.
Group Class Cancellation Policy:
  • You can reschedule your appointment via the online booking system with a minimum of 12 hours notice.
  • In the event that Taking The Lead Dog Play Park, or their representative, has to cancel all or part of your booking due to emergencies such as fencing issues, adverse weather conditions, you will be offered another session free of charge.
Contact details and advertising:
  • You give Taking The Lead permission to store your contact details and contact you (vie email and WhatsApp) with regards to your booking or for the purpose of communicating other relevant activities at the site. Your details will be stored securely and not shared.
  • We reserve the right to use any material, including texts and images sent to us (in any format) or via our Facebook page, for the purposes of marketing with your permission.
Taking The Lead Canine Academy Group Classes Owner Declaration (for classes including, but not limited to: Puppy, Adolescent, Adult, Scentwork, Fundog Gundog, Agility, Hoopers.
  • I give permission for Taking The Lead to use my contact details to contact me.
  • I understand my puppy needs to be under 6 months old to start the puppy class.
  • I agree that I will ensure my dog is fully vaccinated before starting the course.
  • I agree that if my dog is unwell (e.g. sickness/diarrhoea) that I will not attend classes and will leave at least a 48 hour gap before returning. I understand if this happens I can watch the class without my dog, but I will lose my payment for the missed class.
  • In the event my puppy gets Kennel Cough I will not attend classes and will contact Taking The Lead to discuss.
  • I give permission for my personal details to be stored securely by Taking The Lead (they will not be shared).
  • I understand if I miss sessions that I will not receive a refund.
  • I give permission for photos to be taken at the classes and used on the Taking The Lead website and social media (people can be blocked out on request).
  • I understand training suggestions are specific to myself and my dog’s needs and therefore may not be appropriate or safe for others to use.
  • I understand I am responsible for my dog throughout the sessions.
  • I agree that I will not let my dog off the lead unless I am instructed to do so.
  • I understand that the Taking The Lead sites are rural and the ground may be uneven in places – I take full responsibility for mine and my dog’s safety during my visit.
  • I understand that training will proceed in most weather conditions unless a weather warning is issued. In such cases, the class will be cancelled, and an additional class will be added at the end of the block, or  a discount provided on future class bookings. Please note that refunds will not be provided for classes cancelled due to weather conditions.
Booking policy:
  • Classes must be paid for 12-hours prior to attendance for Pay as You Go classes or 12 hours before a block begins.
  • Any cancellations after this time will not be refunded as classes will have been planned and assistants booked in to accommodate the expected number of dogs.
  • I understand reactive dogs (dogs that frequently bark/growl at other dogs) may not be suitable for group classes. However, we may be able to accommodate them with an assigned assistance with a price agreed beforehand with Taking The Lead.
6. Acceptable Breeds
  •  Breeds subject to specific legal requirements (including but not limited to XL Bully types) are permitted within classes on lead and with a muzzle, provided such use complies with applicable law after prior written approval from Taking The Lead.

  • I agree that if my dog is unwell (e.g. sickness/diarrhoea/kennel cough) that I will cancel the appointment and will leave at least a 48 hour gap before returning. 
  • I give permission for my personal details to be stored securely by Taking The Lead (they will not be shared).
  • I understand if I miss sessions that I will not receive a refund.
  • I give permission for photos to be taken at the classes and used on the Taking The Lead website and social media (people can be blocked out on request).
  • I understand training suggestions are specific to myself and my dog’s needs and therefore may not be appropriate or safe for others to use.
  • I understand I am responsible for my dog throughout the sessions.
